The Orchid Classic katana sword

Each piece in the Orchid Classic Series has a hand-forged and folded K120C powder steel blade, differentially tempered. The sayas are deeply lacquered in blue. The tsukas are white ray skin with blue cotton. The tsubas of the katana and wakizashi are blackened iron with an Orchid and Butterfly decoration inlaid in silver, brass, and copper. The katana and wakizashi feature a medium-length kissaki.

The sword blade is tempered using the traditional clay producing a hard cutting edge of 60 RC while maintaining the body of the blade at 40 RC hardness for resilience and shock absorption.

 

 

A kenye (fine-cloth bag) and the traditional sword maintenance kit are included, the latter containing blade oil, rice papers, oiling cloth, a powder ball for blade polishing, and a brass awl and hammer.
