The Mikusa katana family - The Mikusa family of blades are similar to the Yashima family.  This is a Keicho Shinto style blade with an aggressive sori.  Here is a quick fighter with a light feel.  This blade is torizori with full niku, a striking masame hada in the folded blade, a dramatic taper from machi to yokote, and a longer chu kissaki.  This blade will combine the cutting ability of the pro cutter series with the agility of the battle series.

Each of the new sword families has 6 basic configurations. The blade "design" is identical in each configuration within that family. The difference between each is the blade material, the number of folds, and/or the level of intricacy of the furniture.

• Tsuba design - It depicts the final battle, fought about 1188, of the Gempei War. The Mikusa tsuba is a copy of the old original tsuba.
